Tuesday was meant to be the new premiere date for Big Break x Good Good, after Golf Channel pushed it back a week. It didn't air. Golf Channel cancelled the season last Thursday, after the fallout from Good Good's deleted Callaway ad.
What Big Break was
Big Break first ran on Golf Channel in 2003 and was last on air in 2015. Players competed in skills challenges, like hitting targets and closest-to-the-pin contests, and were eliminated until one was left. Golf Channel announced the revival with Good Good in October 2025.
What was lost
The winner of this season was due to get a sponsor's exemption into Good Good's PGA Tour event in Austin in November. Good Good has now stepped away as that event's sponsor, and Golf Channel said the intended outcome of the series could no longer be delivered.
- Original premiere August 25
- Postponed to September 1
- Status Cancelled for 2026
- Big Break Due to return in 2027
- Austin event Still being played
The lesson for creators
Mainstream TV and tour events give creators a bigger audience and more credibility. They also bring sponsors who can leave. Good Good's week showed how fast that can happen: the show, the tournament sponsorship and the Callaway deal all went within seven days.
