Grant Horvat has been invited to play in PGA Tour events more than once. He has turned them down.
The reason
The Tour wouldn't let him film. PGA Tour events have their own media rights, so a creator who plays can't bring a camera crew and turn the week into videos for his own channel. For Horvat, the channel is the business.
- 1.63 million Subscribers on Grant Horvat Golf
- 317 million Channel views
- 2022 The year he left Good Good to go solo
- March 2025 Won the Creator Classic at TPC Sawgrass
What he does instead
Horvat plays matches for his own channel against some of the biggest names in the game. He has faced Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau and Nelly Korda in recent months. And with George and Wesley Bryan he co-founded Your Golf Tour, where every round goes out on YouTube, including on his channel.
Horvat is a former Division II college player whose father played on the Australasian tour, so the golf is real. But he has built something the Tour can't offer him: an audience he owns and can reach every week.
Why it matters
Traditional golf still assumes a Tour start is the prize. For the biggest creators, a start that stops them filming is a cost. That gap is why YGT exists.
