Both captains named their picks last week, so the teams for the Presidents Cup at Medinah, September 24-27, are set.
| Team | Captain | Picks |
|---|---|---|
| United States | Brandt Snedeker | Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay, Chris Gotterup, Jacob Bridgeman, Jackson Koivun |
| International | Geoff Ogilvy | Corey Conners, Sungjae Im, Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Nick Taylor, Nico Echavarria, Ryo Hisatsune |
US automatic qualifiers: Scottie Scheffler, Cameron Young, Wyndham Clark, Sam Burns, Russell Henley and Collin Morikawa.
- 13-1-1 The US record. The only defeat was at Royal Melbourne in 1998
- 10 Presidents Cups in a row the International team has lost
- 6 Debutants: Taylor, Echavarria, Hisatsune, Gotterup, Bridgeman and Koivun
- 3 Months from Koivun leaving Auburn to making the US team
- 5 Four-ball matches on day one
The captains
Snedeker went 2-3-0 as a player in 2013. Ogilvy went 7-6-1 across three International teams, and his design firm, OCM, renovated Medinah's Course No. 3, so he knows the course better than anyone on either side.
The US team has six players who were inside the top 11 in the world before the picks. On paper it's the same story as the last ten matches. The International side's best hope is local knowledge and a strong first day.
