Ryan Fox's bag at Royal Birkdale was Srixon and Cleveland from the driver to the wedges, with one exception on the greens.

The driver you can't buy yet

Fox used a Srixon ZXi RKT LS+ driver at 10.5 degrees. It isn't on sale. The RKT drivers first appeared on the PGA Tour at the Travelers Championship last month, and Fox put the LS+ in play the week it arrived. He added the RKT 3-wood at Birkdale, a week after it first showed up at the Scottish Open.

It worked. Fox was 10th in strokes gained off the tee for the week, and on Sunday he split the 18th fairway with a 330-yard drive before the winning putt.

The putter

Fox putts with a Ping Anser 2D, a blade, built at 40 inches with a KBS C-Taper shaft designed for an 8-iron. According to Ping, he wanted a heavier feel and more stability, so a few years ago he put the stiff iron shaft in his putter and kept it. He led the field in strokes gained putting at Birkdale.

It was the first major won with a blade putter since Bryson DeChambeau at the 2024 U.S. Open.

What you can take from it

Not the driver: you can't buy it yet. Not the shafts either: Fox's are some of the stiffest and heaviest on tour. The useful idea is the putter. Fox changed its weight and feel until he trusted it, which a fitter can do for you with an old putter and a different shaft.
